Ilyas Khan, Male, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Researcher. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of coronavirus and filovirus entry, particularly the regulation of endosomal viral fusion by host factors. By integrating experimental virology with proteomics, structural biology, and computational analyses, he investigates the role of Niemann–Pick C1 (NPC1) in virus–host interactions and develops host-targeted broad-spectrum antiviral strategies. His work has led to the identification of Tubeimosides as pan-coronavirus and filovirus inhibitors targeting NPC1-mediated viral entry. He has published as first author or co-first author in internationally recognized SCI journals, including Nature Communications, mBio, and BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies, and as a co-author in Advanced Science and other high-impact journals.
